Your AirHaven is designed to inflate quickly using a high-volume, low-pressure air pump—the same type of pump commonly used for stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), rafts, and other inflatable gear.
Important: AirHaven awnings do not use a high-pressure pump. Too much pressure can damage or burst the air chambers. Inflate to 8 PSI MAX.
All 2026 AirHaven awnings use HR valves.
For 2026 models, look for a pump with an adapter that fits the HR valve.
We recommend a high-volume pump with a pressure of approximately 8 PSI. High volume air pumps often have max pressure of 16-22 PSI. We recommend electric pumps that have a max pressure setting. Just set to 8 PSI and inflate.
These are good examples:
When choosing another pump, look for:
Do not choose a pump simply because it has a high PSI rating. High-pressure pumps can overinflate the AirHaven if used incorrectly.
Some high-pressure pumps can work with the AirHaven when the correct adapter is used, but use extreme caution. A pressure regulator must be used.
A pump capable of significantly more than 8 PSI can generate enough pressure to overinflate and potentially damage or burst the awning.
Never leave a high-pressure pump unattended while inflating your AirHaven.
2025 and earlier AirHaven models use Boston valves.
These models require a different pump adapter/fitting.
The Boston-valve adapter shown below has been discontinued and is not used with the 2026 AirHaven.
2026 AirHaven models use HR valves instead.
| AirHaven Model | Valve | Recommended Pump |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 AirHaven | HR Valve | High-volume, low-pressure pump |
| 2025 & Earlier | Boston Valve | High-volume pump with Boston adapter |
AirHaven = volume, not pressure.
Use a pump designed for SUPs, rafts, or similar inflatable gear, and make sure you have the correct adapter for your AirHaven's valve.
