Door tops

No rack and no gutter? Open the door. The flat hooks go over the top edge of the door frame and give the awning an anchor.

How it attaches

Inflate. Attach. Enjoy.

Four steps, no tools. Every AirHaven ships with the hardware below.

  1. Inflate to 8 PSI

Close both strut clamp valves (slide the neoprene gloves off to reach them), or skip them: you can set up without the clamp valves. Pump to 8 PSI with a high-volume pump and a gauge. Max pressure is 8 PSI. Never go over it. If a Gen 4 HR valve sticks or leaks, open and close it a few times to get it working as designed.

  2. Hook over the door top

Open the door, set the Standard Top Mount flat hooks over the top edge of the door frame, and close the door gently. They ship clipped to the awning's daisy chain, and you can move them to other spots on it for versatility.

  3. Hook and tension the bottom

Seat the flat hooks at the seam where the body meets the chassis and cinch the straps tight. The struts ride on these straps.

  4. Raise the canopy

If you closed the strut valves, open them and the canopy lifts into place, braced against the side of the vehicle on soft pads. Adjust strap tension to tune the pitch.

Standard Top Mounts

Rubber-coated flat hooks for slider-door tracks, ledges, gutters, lips, slots, channels and eyelets. They ship clipped to the awning's daisy chain, and you can move them to other spots on it for versatility.

Tension straps

Flat hooks seat at the seam where the body meets the chassis. The struts slide on the tensioned straps and rest on soft pads against the vehicle.

Tip: Both top mounts ship attached to the awning. Remove the ones you're not using and stow them in the awning bag's pocket.

Advanced user setup

Hang it first, then inflate in place

Once you know your anchor points, skip the inflate-first routine. Hang the awning flat, then fill it right where it hangs with an electric pump.

  1. Pinch off the strut valves first: close both strut clamp valves.
  2. Hang the awning deflated: attach the top mounts and hook the bottom straps.
  3. Connect an electric pump to the inflation valve.
  4. Inflate in place to 8 PSI, watching the gauge.
  5. Open the strut valves to raise the canopy, then tension the straps and tune the pitch.

Max 8 PSI. Never inflate past 8 PSI. Use a pump with a gauge, and set the shut-off to 8 if your pump has one.

No anchor point where you need one?

FlexMount anchors bond to the vehicle with 3M VHB and give the awning a D-ring to clip to. Semi-permanent, no drilling.
